NY Fashion Week & Weddings

Here in Penny and Mary, we are no fashionista. However, we do have an opinion and we love these looks from the 2014 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City. Who says high fashion can’t be wedding fashion? Our picks are premised on the unique bordering on themed or geeky inspired wedding. Enjoy!

Tadashi Shoji Wedding NYFW fashion week
Tadashi Shoji. This dress and beautiful and unique. If you’re a huge fan of Game of Thrones, LOTR, etc. – this is a good way to achieve a medievalish look without looking like you’re in costume.

Alon Livne. Our geekiness is showing through. Of course these dresses are stunning even if you’re not trying to look like Arwen, Daenerys, or any of your Sci-fi heroines. Want to wear a classic wedding gown? Let your bridesmaids wear these instead. The dresses on the left are also perfect for Gatsby, flapper girl, 1920’s themed wedding party.

The Art Institute. Simple, elegant, romantic and modern.

Monique Lhuillier. This is an amazing take on a white-ish wedding gown. If you’ve been following our blog, you know we’ve been writing about non-white wedding dresses for awhile.

Zac Posen. Vintage or pin-up themed wedding? Grab the dress on the left, and have your bridesmaids wear the dress on the right.

Wendy Nichols. Beautiful and edgy.

Badgley Mischka. Winter and the Sochi Olympics can’t help but make us daydream of a winter wedding with these beautiful winter wedding dresses.
